Malta Public Transport will be running special bus services for this year’s Science in the City festival, taking place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September 2025 at Triton Square, Valletta. These services aim to make it easier for festival-goers to travel to and from the capital, offering a comfortable and convenient option for late-night connections.

Science in the City, Malta’s national science and arts festival, attracts thousands of visitors eager to explore interactive exhibitions, live performances, and hands-on activities. Malta Public Transport is supporting the festival by providing additional transport options, ensuring everyone can get to the event hassle-free.

Passengers with a personalised Tallinja Card can travel on these special services for free, while others can purchase tickets onboard for €3, paying by cash or contactless methods.

The special services will complement a number of Night Routes already serving commuters attending the festival. A full list of routes and schedules is available here.

Going by ferry? The last ferry from Valletta to Sliema and the Three Cities will depart at midnight on both nights, and the Upper Barrakka lift will be in service till midnight too.

Happy science-ing!
