Off they go! 300 passengers aboard first Malta-Sicily catamaran trip since March
The vessel is operating at 60% capacity.

It's a momentous day for Malta today as travel to and from the Islands commences for the first time since March. Apart from the airport's reopening, the sea route connecting Malta to Sicily has also restarted, with the first catamaran trip leaving Malta at 6.30am with 300 passengers on board.

The vessel, which can hold up to 900 passengers, is currently operating at 60% capacity to keep in line with social distancing protocols.

The catamaran, which landed in Pozzallo at around 9.15am, is expected back in Malta at 9pm with around 400 tourists on board. A second round-trip will also take place today, with more tourists expected to arrive in Malta.
