A slice of heaven! The top 10 places for a delicious pizza in Malta & Gozo - according to locals
The ultimate comfort food!

Emma Galea

Being in close proximity to Italy, Malta has a close connection and love for the delicious delicacy that is pizza.

In a fact, a good majority of Maltese restaurant all across the islands offer pizza on their menu.

But who offers the best and most authentic one?

If you’re in Malta and you’re craving pizza you’ve definitely clicked on the right article.

In an effort to find Malta’s best place for pizza, we have asked GuideMeMalta’s local readers where their go to spots can be found, and here are the results!

Made in Sud Pizzeria, Bugibba

This pizzeria is the one that was the most highly recommended. Our readers called it “the only reflection of the real Neapolitan pizza”, so if you’re in the Bugibba area I would definitely give it a try!

Dal Siciliano Pizzeria, Sliema

A Sicilian restaurant hidden right in the heart of Sliema, this pizzeria does not look like it will leave you disappointed. It’s cooked in true Sicilian style so you can expect mouthwatering, light and puffy dough.

Casa Vostra, Rabat Gozo

Moving over to the sister island of Gozo, this restaurant has a long list of wood oven baked pizzas to choose from. Make sure to book ahead as tables get snatched up quickly, a testament to how delicious their pizza truly is.

Sotto Pinsa Romana, Valletta – St Julian’s – Sliema – Marsaskala – Malta Airport

Located in not one but five different locations across Malta, this pizza is a representation of true homemade Italian food.

Salumeria Gardens, St Julian’s

Not only is the pizza one of the best you’ll ever try but the setting is magnificent. Salumeria pizzeria is located in a garden oasis in St Julian's as the 400-year-old Spinola palace sists as its background.

Giordano Italian Pizza & Restaurant, Naxxar

This restaurant in Naxxar offers plenty of other delicious food apart from pizza, but their pizza is every pizza enthusiast’s dream.

Point de Vue, Rabat

Found in perhaps one of Malta’s most charming historical towns, Point de Vue has some incredibly appetising pizzas but what their unique and special pizza pie is a must try!

The Oven, St Julian’s – Mosta – Birkirkara – Zejtun

The Oven has been a favourite of the Maltese for many years and rightly so as their thick crust pizza is fantastic. Bonus: they’re very generous with their toppings!

Marrobbio Restaurant, Sliema – Naxxar

Their tomato sauce tastes like it was made in heaven so you can be sure their pizza is amazing. They also make some incredibly mouthwatering pasta if you prefer that.

Rosso Pomodoro, Mriehel – Sliema – Kalkara

You’ll feel like you’re in Naples when visiting Rossopomodoro. Their pizza dough is left to mature for 24 hours, ensuring it's just right - not too heavy, not too light. They even have fried pizza, which is a must try!

Pizza is a happiness on a plate!
