Not to be missed! Dive into history at Salt Fest with Heritage Malta’s underwater experience
It’s all happening on the 26th and 27th of July at Salina Nature Reserve!

Heritage Malta is bringing history to life beneath the waves at this year’s Salt Fest, an annual celebration of the iconic Salina saltpans. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore Malta’s rich underwater cultural heritage for free, thanks to the interactive displays hosted by the agency’s Underwater Cultural Heritage Unit.

From ancient shipwrecks to dramatic aircraft crash sites and powerful submarines and battleships from World Wars I and II, this immersive experience highlights the vast and often hidden history lying beneath Malta’s surrounding seas. The exhibit is ideal for families, history enthusiasts, and curious minds eager to discover more about the nation's maritime past.

Salt Fest not only celebrates the natural and cultural legacy of the Salina saltpans but also offers a deeper look at how Malta’s position in the Mediterranean has shaped its historical significance over centuries.

Whether you're fascinated by underwater archaeology or simply looking for a fun and educational day out, Heritage Malta’s presence at Salt Fest promises a fascinating dive into the past...no scuba gear required! Don’t miss this chance to uncover the secrets of Malta’s underwater treasures.

Will you be attending Salt Fest this year?
