Last month, London Fashion Week welcomed local designer Luke Azzopardi to exhibit his latest collection. While we loved sifting through the beautiful photos on social media (and imagining ourselves donning his gowns one day), not much was revealed about the launch itself.
His latest collection, Nocturnal Artefacts, explores the cultural status of art objects and architecture in their process of decay and referenced the ruins of the Valletta Nibbia chapel of bones. It featured stunning elaborations on his signature style, and also revealed some exciting new pieces – specifically ballgowns for men.
Now, the studio has released a 3-minute video documenting Luke’s models walking down the runway as well as the ending, and we’re not surprised by the amount of clapping that was heard.
The video highlights Luke’s designs in movement and captures the atmosphere in the room, which adds dimension to the whole experience. So for those of us who could not see the launch in person, this video is a happy and very satisfying option to settle for!
He's the king of subtle political statements (check out the shirt).
