Meet Edward Zammit, the 6-year-old boy who is a living encyclopaedia on Maltese statues
No boy is quite as excited about Maltese statues as little Edward.
Many around Malta are statue enthusiasts but none are quite as enthusiastic as the six-year-old Maltese boy, Edward Zammit.
Edward is a living encyclopaedia and at his very young age he already knows everything there is know about Maltese statues.
While being interviewed on TVMnews, he was being shown different pictures of different statues and he could always name the saint and the exact church where it is found.
When Edward was asked what his favourite statues are, he revealed the Saint Nicholas statue of Siggiewi and the Madonna tal-Karmnu of Zurrieq are the statues he loves the most. This is because he was christened in Siggiewi and now lives in Zurrieq, making these two statues extremely special to him.
As you can imagine, Edward collects many statues at home, and they are his all-time favourite presents to receive.
When he grows up his dream job is to make statues and he has already started making small statues out of clay!
During the holy week, he even organised his own Good Friday procession with the statues from his own collection.
He also dreams of meeting the talented statue Gozitan artist, Alfred Camilleri Cauchi.
