The Hindu-style wedding was spread out over Villa Bighi, Limestone Heritage, Villa Bologna, and Fort St Elmo
Vogue India has cast a spotlight on a recent destination Hindu-style wedding in Malta, that lasted four days and was spread out over four top venues.
The wedding was between Lavina Sabnani, who works for a Hong Kong-based marketing firm, and Dr Amanda Friday, a psychologist and actress.
Day one took place at Villa Bighi, where guests were treated to a performance by a string quartet and local artist Sean Kamati.
Souvenirs included engraved hats, hangover kits, custom performs and mithai boxes – containers to store Indian sweets.

The Haldi pre-wedding ceremony took place at Limestone Heritage, where a queer pandita called Kushmani Shridevi Doobay led a prayer.
Celebrations then proceeded to Villa Bologna, where Amanda was given a traditional Hindu Baraat wedding procession, complete with a dhol player.
The final reception took place at Fort St Elmo, where the brides left handwritten letters on guests’ seats, naming their “superpowers”.
Lavina said she had dreamed of marrying in Malta since childhood, after attending a family friend’s celebration at the Upper Barrakka Gardens and watching the Saluting Battery show.
“I just knew that I wanted my future wedding to be in Malta,” she said.
