Samuel Schiavone

The local tattoo artist Samuel Schiavone, known on Instagram as @samtattoos7, was a resounding success at the Titanic Tattoo Convention that was held last weekend in Belfast.

The talented artist took home first place in the Best Portrait category, Best of Saturday and second place in the Best of Show for his incredible noir-themed piece featuring Lauren Bacall, the iconic actress popular in the 1940s.

This is not Samuel Schiavone’s first success this year – in January he participated in the acclaimed Milano Tattoo Convention, where he won first place in the ‘Large Black and Grey’ category and second place in the Best of Saturday category.

His tattoos are characterised by hyperrealistic portraits in black and white, with vivid detail and intense facial expressions. Subjects vary from known personalities, to skulls and characters from horror films, such as 'The Conjuring'.

Keep making us proud Samuel!
