It’s back! Hard Rock Cafe returning to St George’s Bay
The original Bay Street outlet closed down six years ago

Six years after its iconic Bay Street restaurant closed down, Hard Rock Cafe is making a grand comeback to the area.

The Bay Street outlet opened in 2000 as Malta’s first Hard Rock Cafe and was renowned for its 80s-style decor, live music, musical memorabilia, and American-sized portions.

However, it closed down for good in 2020, and was replaced by Rainforest Cafe.

Six years later, it is making a grand comeback to the area, this time on the other side of St George’s Bay as part of an ongoing major development project.

“Our newest cafe sits in the heart of St. Julian’s - a town that has transformed from a charming fishing village into one of the Mediterranean's most sought-after waterfront destinations,” the international Hard Rock franchise said.

“Get ready for great food, live music, special events, and legendary nights.”

It marks the second restaurant comeback in the area this summer, after Il Pirata recently announced that it would reopen its St Julian’s outlet five years after closing its doors.
