An open day is being held tomorrow!

MUŻA has finally opened its doors to the public, with a free open day being held tomorrow, 15th December from 10am to midnight. For those confused about the name, MUŻA is actually an acronym for MUŻew tal-Arti (Art Museum). The name also relates to muses, which were mythological creatures from classic times that inspired creativity.

MUŻA is a national-community art museum, which was inaugurated by Heritage Malta on 10th November and is the first of its kind locally, located in the heart of the capital city of Valletta. It offers the public the chance to explore extensive art collections presented in four main sections.

A staggering sum of €10 million was invested in this project and has already been on the receiving end of a number of international prizes. The museum will be ‘green-powered,’ having all its energy generated from renewable resources, helping to safeguard the environment. It is also housed within a restored historic Maltese building – the prestigious Auberge D’Italie in Merchants Street.
