As Malta goes into Holy Week, unsettled and windy conditions are expected to affect the islands, particularly on today, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
Forecasts indicate that Maundy Thursday will be the most challenging day, with cloudy skies, frequent rain showers, and the possibility of thundery bursts. West-Northwest winds are expected to strengthen to Force 5–6 in the morning, increasing further later in the day, with current weather warnings for strong winds and heavy showers, including hail, likely to remain in force.

Temperatures will reach a high of 14°C and drop to 10°C overnight, with winds making it feel significantly colder, especially during evening church visits.
Good Friday is expected to remain showery and windy, though conditions may improve slightly. Isolated rain showers are likely throughout the day, particularly in the morning and afternoon, with Northwesterly winds gradually easing from Force 6 to Force 5. Temperatures will peak at 16°C and fall to around 11°C by evening, posing some challenges for procession organisers.
Conditions are forecast to improve from Holy Saturday, with lighter winds and occasional showers. Sunshine is expected to return on Easter Sunday, offering partly cloudy skies, light winds, and temperatures reaching 16°C - ideal for traditional processions and celebrations.
