One of the most renowned sandwich brands in the world is making its way to Malta, bringing a taste of Florence straight to Valletta.

All’Antico Vinaio will soon open its first local outlet on Republic Street, right in the heart of the capital. Famous for its generously filled schiacciata sandwiches, the brand has become a global sensation, drawing huge crowds in cities like Florence, New York City, London, and Paris.

What started as a traditional Tuscan street food spot has grown into an international success story, and the Valletta location will mark its 56th outlet worldwide. Set along one of Malta’s busiest streets, the new opening is expected to quickly become a hotspot for both locals and visitors, further elevating the capital’s vibrant food scene.

Founder Tommaso Mazzanti described the move as an important milestone in the brand’s global journey, pointing to Valletta’s unique character and cultural richness as key factors behind the decision.

Locally, the franchise is being spearheaded by Victor Borg of Greatt Food Limited, who noted that Republic Street provides the perfect backdrop for such a high-profile brand.

The menu will remain true to its roots, with freshly baked schiacciata and premium Italian ingredients at its core, while also introducing Malta-inspired options exclusive to the island.

Doors are set to open on April 25th at noon, with daily service from 10am to 10pm starting the following day. For food lovers, this is one launch that’s sure to turn heads.
