Litter of puppies abandoned in construction site rescued but urgently need YOUR help
They were rescued by a worker and later transferred to AAA

One worker was in for a not so pleasant surprise this morning when he found nine four-week-old puppies in a construction site in Luqa. Left abandoned, he feared they would end up crushed to death due to the ongoing works in the area, so he handed them over to the Association for Abandoned Animals (AAA) who are currently nursing them back to health.

This is not the first time AAA have had to deal with such a situation. In fact, such events happen on a frequent basis. Now faced with a massive abandonment, the organisation has taken to Facebook to voice its anger at the constantly recurring situation: “No other word for it. We are fed up and we are tired of this ongoing abandonment,” the post read.

While AAA assured the public that they will do their best to nurse the puppies back to health, the situation proves difficult as at four weeks old “they should still be with their mother.”

The puppies require bottled milk for nourishment and AAA are asking for donations in the form of puppy milk and puppy can food to help sustain the new additions to the rescue centre’s ever growing brood.

Social media users have rallied to condemn the alarming trend of owners abandoning their pet's offspring. Many also offered financial and material donations to assist the AAA in helping them reach an age where they can be adopted.

Go on to the AAA's Facebook page to see how you too can help out!
