Let’s get physical! New Parks Malta initiative facilitates outdoor exercise
The exercise guides come in three different levels of difficulty.

In a bid to encourage more and more people to take on an active lifestyle, local agency Parks Malta has further strengthened its ‘Parks Fitness’ initiative.

This project has seen a series of signs exhibiting QR codes get installed around Maltese parks. Upon scanning one of these codes, users are redirected to a website where one can access a plethora of ‘how-to’ videos for outdoor exercises.

Users can choose from three different exercise difficulties: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

All three levels make do without any gym equipment and instead use one’s surroundings – like park benches.

“Always ensure you train in a safe manner which respects other park visitors. In case of any pains or injuries please consult your doctor before engaging into any physical activity”, the website warned.

The parks where the QR codes can be found include:

  1. San Klement Park, Zabbar
  2. Quiet Area, Marsaskala Family Park
  3. Gym Area, Marsaskala Family Park
  4. Promenade, Birzebbuga
  5. Gnien il Gibjun, Żurrieq
  6. Gnien l-Gharusa tal-Mosta, Mosta
  7. Calvagna Picnic Area, Mosta
  8. Ta’ Qali - Next to Petting Farm
  9. Majjistral Park Offices, Majjistral Nature and History Park
  10. Mellieha Street, Majjistral Nature and History Park

Will you be making use of such an initiative?
