Bye, Felicia...
We’ve just switched to autumn, and that only means one thing *cue dramatic Jon Snow voice*: winter is coming. Kidding – though cooler months are definitely ahead. But that’s not the only thing that makes us realise summer has broken up with us for yet another year. Here are eight stages (of grief?) of realising summer has left the building.
1. Rain starts creeping its way in
You know summer is slowly ending when freak rainfall pours. Yay or nay? Personally, I’m all for it cos, let’s face it, no one wants to be sweating 24/7 - but definitely going to miss the chill summer vibes.
2. There’s a chill in the evening air
As you keep heading out on what’s left of the summer evenings, you’ll notice a little chill. You might want to start taking a light cardy with you.

3. Favourite spots aren’t as crowded
Locals start calling it a night earlier than usual, and our fav night time spots are somehow not as crowded as they used to be. Easier to get a table, I guess!
4. Weekend parties come to a close
Big summer parties like District, Sound Salon and G7 come to a close as regular go-tos on a Friday night. But not to worry! They’ll be back. Winter special? #Fingerscrossed

5. Traffic increasing, slowly but surely
Slowly slowly, traffic increases (yes, it gets worse) as schools start up again and, until everyone settles into their routine, it’s an utter nightmare. Don’t believe me? Just wait for it...
6. Beach days dwindle
As the weather starts becoming a little crappy, beach days are numbered and we automatically shift to other activities. But, we’re holding (tightly) onto those drinks nights for now.
7. Nights in become more popular
Summer ends and cosy nights in are a go-to weekend activity. Take out and a movie, anyone?
8. Warm foods
Light summer foods take a back seat as we welcome in warmer foods to our diet. We totes can’t wait to taste traditional soups and baked dishes. Yum!
Are you excited for the cooler Autumn months?
