It’s Black Friday! Here are this NGO's tips on how you can shop ‘til you drop sustainably
Mother Nature will thank ya!

Black Friday is upon us, and we’re totes excited to hit the shops and online stores for those amazing bargains and discounts available. While you’re probably planning ways on how to strategically get through Black Friday in Malta, there’s one other element to think of: the environment.

Zibel, one of Malta’s prominent environmental conservation organisations, published some things to keep in mind when enjoying your shopping to minimise the environmental impact on our islands, and we're definitely bearing them in mind!

“Black Friday is almost here, and while we can’t expect our eco-warriors to refrain from shopping (because everyone’s got necessities on their list worthy of a discount) we can ask that you at least do it sustainably,” they urge in a recent post on socials.

Here are just a few tips that Zibel suggests:

1. “Shopping online? Group your shipping and don’t opt for express (ever).” Wait a little longer, cut them shipping costs and save the environment all in a day’s work.

2. “Shopping here? Take some tote bags along and avoid single use plastics.” Avoid having lots of paper and plastic shopping bags. Go for the reusable ones that are totes stylish too!

“Do your best to shop sustainably on Black Friday, but enjoy that discounted hoover you’ve been waiting for!”
