Iklin set to be as colourful as ever with local council organising ‘Festa Fjuri’ this coming Saturday
Nothing screams spring as much as a flower festival.
The Iklin Local Council will turn into an aromatic and colourful wonderland as it is organises ‘Festa Fjuri’ this coming Saturday, 27th May between 9am and 2pm.
The idea for such a festival first came about as Iklin is the maltese word for rosemary, a plant commonly found across the Maltese Island.
Therefore, it is only appropriate that a festival centred around flowers is organised in the locality of none other than Iklin.

The event will see many stands offering the sale of many flowers, pots and herbs.
Public talks related to various topics surronding nature including those Alfred Baldacchino, Dr. Antoine Vella, Jeffrey Sciberras from Nature Trust and aromatherapist Pauline Attard and Carmen Tedesco will also be organised.
Additionally, local artists from Iklin will be displaying their art for everyone to see while also painting live the scenes of the festival.
The San Pio X marching band from Ħal Lija will also be joining in on the fun and enteraining the crowds.
Ambjent Malta, Project Green, MOVE for Trees, ERA, il-Malta Organic Agriculture Movement MOAM, Water – Be the Change u l-Community Policing will all be participating while passing out some freebies for all those who attend.
The council will give out petunia plants to all Iklin residents for them to decorate their house facades with as to make iklin more beautiful than it already is.
