Prepare to be amazed! The Department of Information in Malta took to social media to post about a lesser-known gem nestled in Bighi Bay - the captivating thermal baths. Situated on the coast beneath the grandeur of the Bighi complex, these baths have an intriguing history tied to the Royal Hospital of Bighi.

Delving into the past, an architectural plan dating back to 1873 reveals the existence of six thermal baths, of which four remain intact to this day. These baths were meticulously assigned to specific categories of British servicemen, each serving a unique purpose.

The primary function of these baths was to provide hydrotherapy using the therapeutic powers of seawater. The healing properties of the baths were particularly beneficial for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and aiding the recovery of those wounded in action.
