The Phoenicia Malta’s historic Gazebo and 7.5 acres of gardens served as the beautiful backdrop to a summer evening garden party last weekend, in which over 100 guests were treated to a specially prepared garden menu designed by The Phoenicia’s Executive Chef, Daniel Debattista.

The exceptional menu included an array of fresh tomatoes from the hotel’s very own kitchen garden, typifying their focus on the use of fresh, local ingredients, as well as a mozzarella Bar, honey station, cannoli Station and refreshing cocktails made from fresh garden ingredients – all of which celebrating the very best of what local fare has to offer.

Indeed, as the Phoenicia’s General Manager Charles Azzopardi said, “the Garden Party was an opportunity to enjoy our beautiful gardens, which are usually reserved for use by guests, and to experience a garden-themed menu with elements coming from our Kitchen Garden. Delicious food and drink, good conversation and cooling summer breezes.”

It was also a wonderful opportunity to check out the fantastic results of the refurbishment of the luxurious hotel and gardens, set against Valletta’s historic 16th century fortifications – a project which earned the firm behind it, Architecture Project, recognition in the form of the urban regeneration award within the recent Premju Emanuele Luigi Galizia awards.
