Matteo Grima, the 18-year-old Mtarfa football player left grieviously injured in a traffic accident, has left the ITU.

This was revealed by Mtarfa mayor Daniel Attard, who shared the good news with the community yesterday evening through Facebook: "I'd like to share some positive news, Matteo has left the ITU. I would like to pass on a word of encouragement and hope to his family and friends as Matteo continues his journey to recovery, and God willing, we shall have him with us soon."

Matteo has been in hospital since 23rd April following a serious traffic accident in Rabat. His progress after two weeks of intensive care has given hope to many friends, teammates and well-wishers, who expressed their joy at the news on Daniel's post.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Matteo!
