For Tamara, Christmas is...

...based around the intimate connections made with family. “I’m very close to my family and we absolutely love celebrating Christmas together, so it means a lot to me.” Digging back into childhood memories of Christmas Eves past, she reveals sweet memories of midnight breakfast with her grandparents, giving the festive season a whole lot of happiness.

And this year, she'll play host!

As years go by, traditions change, as do Christmas activities; “Now that we have all grown older, I took the reigns into my own hands. In recent years I’ve been the family host on Christmas Day, which means Christmas Eve is usually spent preparing for the big lunch.” As intense prep becomes tradition; Tamara explains that since her parents come over to help make the magic happen for the family get-together, she wouldn’t have it any other way. Keeping connections alive this time of year is the most important part of the holiday for Tamara.

Tamara's Christmas traditions

“I always find time to meet all my best friends and family during the holiday season,” she continues, explaining that even though years go by, some traditions still live on. “I love doing up my Christmas tree with my mother. It reminds me of when I used to help her put up hers when I was still living at home. Her tree was always gorgeous - she’s the one who passed on the Christmas bug to me.” As memories soar, Tamara continues, “we always open our gifts on Christmas Day, but honestly being together and eating lots of food is the main attraction, year in, year out.”

What's her favourite part of the day?

“Honestly?” she says, “all day! From the moment my family steps into my house, my heart just fills with joy! I never want the day to end. Last year I started a new family tradition; no one is allowed to open their gifts until a donation to Puttinu is given! This, of course, will carry on to this year too.”

Tamara's best Christmas present so far was...

... a surprise trip her parents for her and her sister. Her parents’ best friends have children, who also happen to be the Webb sisters’ besties, so they were all jumping for joy when they found out that they were going to spend New Year’s Eve in Disneyland Paris. After Christmas Day spent with family; Tamara chooses to break in the New Year with family once again, adding on closest family friends and of course her husband Ken, who means the world to her. They will be spending the day relaxing in a hotel; where they can enjoy each other’s company and hopefully a cheeky cocktail or two.

How about New Years Resolutions? Will she be making any?

This Insta Queen is all for making her life as admirable as possible; pushing Malta’s youth to be the best they can be. Leading by example she says, “I don’t really believe in New Years Resolutions. I set goals throughout the day and don’t wait for the first day of the year to start planning.” She boosts this with some additional motivation: “Life is too short to wait! DO IT! Follow those dreams, write those goals down and START TODAY!”

Even though resolutions may be a silly passing thought for Tamara; she is all set to make 2019 a whole lot better! While her lips are sealed about upcoming projects; she does share some of her plans, saying, “what I really want is to keep building a loving, empowering community on my Instagram account. I want to keep pushing to expand it outside social media. I’ve really found happiness in sharing my lifestyle - I truly believe I’ve found myself in 2018. Bring on 2019!”

Bring it on indeed! And A very Merry Christmas to Tamara and her family from all of us at GuideMeMalta!
