Sophie St John has etched her name in Maltese sporting history with a remarkable five-medal haul at the 2025 Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) held in Andorra. The talented gymnast delivered an exceptional performance, earning three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze, cementing her place as one of Malta’s standout athletes of the Games.

Her gold-medal performances included a commanding win in the Vault with a score of 12.550, and a graceful routine on the Beam that earned her 12.900 points. These victories marked her second and third gold medals of the competition, highlighting her consistency and excellence across multiple disciplines.

Proud of her achievements, Sophie’s father took to social media to express the family’s joy:

"Her medals shine brightly, but it’s her grit, grace, and heart that make us the proudest. Watching her step onto the podium again and again is something we’ll always cherish."

The Maltese Olympic Committee also celebrated her performance, calling it a landmark moment for Maltese gymnastics. Her success brings pride to the nation but also sets a new benchmark for future generations of athletes.
