‘Dream and Achieve. Put your mind into it and just do it!’
Racalmuto’s historic motorsport festival once again attracted a strong Maltese presence, and this year, it was Krista Bugeja who stole the spotlight. Behind the wheel with confidence and precision, Krista claimed victory in the competitive Class 1300 category and earned the prestigious title of 1st Female Driver at the event.
Amid a predominantly male field, Krista and fellow Maltese driver Kimberly-Jo Fenech stood as the event’s only two female competitors, proudly representing Malta and highlighting the growing role of women in the sport. Kimberly-Jo competed in a separate class, further strengthening the message that Maltese women are making their mark on the international racing scene.
Driving for the Mini Onity team, Krista was joined by an impressive roster of teammates: Simon Bugeja, Glen McInally, Roger Allen, and Stewart Cook - a blend of British and Maltese talent that delivered a seamless team effort throughout the competition.
Krista credited much of her success to the team’s technical expert Glen McInally, as well as her husband and teammate Simon Bugeja, calling him her greatest supporter. She also extended heartfelt thanks to event organiser Joe Anastasi and her sponsors: Enemed, Hundar, Two in One, AtoZ Electronics, Monster Energy, Garmmo, EuroBridge, Virtu Ferries Ltd, and PAX-Bags.
Krista’s message to aspiring female drivers was clear and empowering:
‘Dream and Achieve. Put your mind into it and just do it!’
Well done!
