Rich in wildlife, Majjistral is home to hedgehogs, bats, snakes, chameleons, wild rabbits and weasels
A guided sunset nature hike at Mellieħa’s beautiful Majjistral Park will take place tomorrow evening to mark World Environment Day.
The hike is organised by the Sunday Run Club, in collaboration with the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA), whose officials will be present to explain what makes the nature park so special.
With its stunning coastal cliffs leading to deep blue seas, Majjistral is rich in wildlife, and is home to hedgehogs, bats, snakes, chameleons, wild rabbits and weasels, along with several birds and hundreds of plant species.
It also holds a rich history, with ancient tombs, World War II gun posts, and remnants of rural heritage.
The hike will start at 6:30pm tomorrow. Attendees are requested to make a minimum €5 donation, with all proceeds going directly to Richmond Foundation in support of mental health.
