Record! 40,000 people attend Isle of MTV Malta 2026 as Katy Perry and AFROJACK light up Floriana
Around 40,000 people gathered at the Granaries in Floriana on Tuesday evening for the 18th edition of Isle of MTV Malta, cementing the festival’s reputation as one of the biggest highlights of the Maltese summer and Europe’s largest free music event.
The spectacular concert attracted thousands of locals and international visitors who travelled to Malta specifically for the world-renowned festival, further strengthening its role as a major attraction within the island’s tourism calendar.

The evening kicked off with performances from some of Malta’s leading musical talents, including Jamie Cardona, AIDAN and Mychael Bartolo Chircop, who set the stage for a night packed with entertainment and unforgettable moments.

Global superstar Katy Perry delivered one of the most anticipated performances of the night, treating fans to a selection of her biggest hits alongside her latest single, Watch It Burn. During an emotional acoustic performance of Roar, Perry shared a personal reflection with the crowd, delivering a message of courage and perseverance. Her set also featured several interactive moments with fans, including audience fan-cams and her playful appearance inside a giant inflatable bottle before closing the show with her iconic hit Firework.

The festival concluded with a high-energy performance from internationally acclaimed DJ AFROJACK, bringing the 18th edition to an explosive finale.
