The much-loved Maltese Sausage Day is set to return on Friday, 31st July, bringing together food lovers, families and local producers for an evening dedicated to one of Malta's most iconic traditional products.

Organised by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food through the Public Abattoir, in collaboration with the private sector, the event will kick off from 8pm onwards at the Public Abattoir in Marsa. Its aim is to continue promoting locally produced food while highlighting the cultural importance of the traditional Maltese sausage.

Visitors will have the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes centred around the Maltese sausage, while browsing an exhibition and market featuring locally produced agri-food products. The event will also include live musical entertainment, a children's area and a range of family-friendly activities.

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Anton Refalo said the initiative forms part of the government's ongoing commitment to supporting Maltese farmers, livestock breeders and food producers by encouraging consumers to choose local products. He described the Maltese sausage as an important symbol of the country's culinary heritage and identity.
