The health warning issued last week has now been lifted.
If you’ve been avoiding a swim at Wilġa Beach in St Julian’s recently, here’s some welcome news!
The Environmental Health Directorate has officially lifted the health warning for Wilġa Beach, located along Wilġa Street in St Julian’s. This decision follows a series of repeated water samples taken over recent days, which confirmed that the seawater quality now meets the standards set out by the Bathing Water Directive.
That means the beach is once again safe for swimming, and locals and tourists alike can return to enjoying the clear blue waters without worry.
Earlier this month, a temporary warning had been issued after water quality concerns, but thanks to continued monitoring and testing, the site is now fully cleared.
For further updates or queries, the public is encouraged to contact the Environmental Health Directorate at 2133 7333 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., or by email at [email protected].
You can also stay informed via the Directorate’s official channels: their Facebook page, website and Bathing Water Portal.
So grab your towel, pack the sunblock, and enjoy the refreshing waters of Wilġa once more!
