The Maltese coastline is looking cleaner thanks to the ongoing Visit Malta x Coast is Clear collaboration, part of the 2025/26 campaign for healthier seas and shorelines.

Over the past months, volunteers have been dedicating countless hours to diving, snorkelling, kayaking, and scouring beaches to safeguard Malta’s fragile marine environment.

Last Saturday marked another milestone in these efforts, with a large-scale clean-up held at Ċirkewwa Marine Park. A total of 70 volunteers joined forces, representing organisations such as Nature Trust – FEE Malta, St John Ambulance & Rescue, Malta Calypso Sub-Aqua Club, the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM), CP, and Raniero’s Adventures – Live Life.

Together, they successfully removed an impressive 509 kilograms of debris from the seabed.

The event was powered by teamwork, passion, and a shared commitment to protecting marine life. Volunteers worked both underwater and along the shore, ensuring that rubbish threatening fish, turtles, and other marine species was safely removed.

This initiative stands as a shining example of how collaboration and perseverance can make a lasting impact on Malta’s natural heritage!

Well done!
