The Pink October-Movember is a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the most common female and male cancers.
On the 1st of October, several zebra crossings in Malta turned pink to mark the start of Pink October-Movember, a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the most common female and male cancers.
The ‘Zebras Go Pink’ initiative was launched with a symbolic walk across a newly painted pink and white zebra crossing on the Cospicua promenade.

This campaign is important to educate the public about cancer prevention. The need for individuals to learn how to properly check themselves, undergo necessary screenings, and overcome the fear that often prevents early diagnosis was also highlighted. Early detection is crucial in saving lives.
The 2024 Pink October-Movember campaign focuses on three female cancers—breast, ovarian, and cervical—as well as two common male cancers: testicular and prostate. This year’s campaign is inspired by the theme of finding inner strength and stepping forward with a positive attitude, encouraging people to take control of their health.
