A beautifully lit tree made from 4,500 glass bottles has taken centre-stage in Gozo this year.

Together with the giant Christmas tree, one can also find two new chandeliers on display, which are also made of glass bottles.

While Għajnsielem might be synonymous with the traditional Bethlehem f'Għajnsielem, an animated nativity village spread on 20,000sqm of land, this village truly goes above and beyond in spreading Christmas cheer.

The Christmas tree was lit during a short ceremony that took place earlier this month, and a number of activities revolving around it have taken place since then.

In fact, last Saturday, Santa himself visited the Għajnsielem tree, an event which was followed by a live concert with the prominent band Joygivers and a spectacular dancing performance by Centre Stage Dance Academy.

Here’s Santa arriving in Għajnsielem.
