Raphael Mizzi has done it again! Local artist, who utilises beach clay to make to create temporary models throughout Maltese beaches has recently unveiled his latest creation: the sea turtle!

Raphael captured the marine monster surfacing to lay eggs during the summer months at ir-Ramla l-Hamra using elements from the local environment, such as beach clay, driftwood, and stones.

‘Sea turtles are truly mesmerizing creatures, and it's a privilege to pay tribute to their beauty and importance in our Mediterranean Sea’, writes Raphael in his latest Instagram post.

‘Despite spending countless hours at sea, I have yet to witness these graceful beings in their natural habitat, but I remain hopeful for that magical encounter someday’.

Raphael stresses the importance of cherishing and protecting the wonders of our seas so that future generations can marvel at the incredible marine life that calls it home.

This is not the first time that Raphel has created an incredible creation of this sort. Recently, this local artist created a sculpture capturing the Mediterranean monk seal, also known as il-bumerin which was last seen in Malta in 1974.

Last year, Raphael also took to Ghajn Tuffieha to create a jaw-dropping sculpture depicting a male torso.

Well done, Raphael!
