First ‘pocket park’ opens in San Gwann with more villages to follow
These parks are part of a project to have more green spaces around the island.

A ‘pocket park’, that is, a small park in the heart of a village, has just been opened in San Gwann.

This is the first park of its kind on the islands, although many more are set to be opened across the Maltese islands.

Minister for Environment, Energy, and Enterprise Miriam Dalli highlighted that the point of a ‘pocket park’ is to attract that village or town’s residents, without requiring them to even start their car.

“Even though it’s small, this garden and others like it are crucial for citizens that live nearby. This is because wasted and abandoned spaces like these are being transformed into green zones that offer serenity and relaxation to their visitors,” Parks Malta wrote on Facebook.

For all San Gwann and nearby village residents that wish to visit, the relaxing park can be found along Hibiscus Street.
