But I See Beauty & Wonder… shows how art can change the way we see the world. It teaches us to find beauty in places we might not expect, even in things that might seem ugly or scary at first. In our daily lives, we often see things that we don’t like—things that make us feel worried or sad. But when we look at them through art, we can see them in a new way. They can become interesting, beautiful, or even fun!
The artists in this exhibition start with things people usually think are ‘ugly’ or ‘frightening.’ These could be personal struggles or big problems in the world. But through their creativity, the artists turn these ideas into something that shows us wonder, beauty, or fascination.
The idea that beauty is in the eye of the beholder is important here. This means that different people see beauty in different things. Each artist will bring their own way of looking at the world to this theme, and together, they will show us how the line between what’s beautiful and what’s not can blur. This makes us think in new ways and appreciate both sides.
