England expected to remove Malta from safe travel corridor list

Malta together with the Netherlands are set to be removed from England’s safe travel corridor list, according to The Guardian.

The transport secretary, Grant Shapps, reportedly met with ministers yesterday afternoon “where it is understood it was decided the Netherlands and Malta would be taken off the list after a rise in Covid-19 cases in the countries.” The paper reported that ministers are still mulling over a decision regarding travel to and from France.

This means that arrivals from Malta will have to quarantine for 14 days once measures are imposed. The Guardian noted that a formal announcement is unlikely to come until tomorrow.
