COVID-19 tests scrapped for unvaccinated travellers arriving in Malta from TODAY
No tests needed for arrivals.

As of today, unvaccinated travellers will no longer need to present a negative PCR or rapid test result when upon arriving in Malta.

The local health authorities had announced this ruling at the beginning of July.

As of yesterday 24th July, 3,713 active COVID-19 cases were present on the Maltese Islands, with 128 of them testing positive that day.

As time goes on, Malta’s travel restrictions have been gradually eased. Today’s update means that Malta is no longer enforcing any COVID-19 travel restrictions whatsoever.

Travelling to and from Malta has proven to be quite chaotic lately, with many flights having been rescheduled and/or delayed at Malta International Airport – including some going to and from Heathrow and Madrid.

There have also been long queues, delays and cancellations all over Europe as airports are struggling to keep up with the sudden demand that summer 2022 brought along.
