Air Malta flights on five separate days are affected by this.
Summer 2022’s airport chaos is showing absolutely no signs of waning…
National carrier Air Malta has just announced that a number of its Malta – London Heathrow – Malta flights planned for July and August have had to be rescheduled following airport terminal congestion issues in the UK.
Flights KM106 (Malta to London Heathrow) and KM107 (London Heathrow to Malta) will now be departing at 12:10pm and 3:30pm respectively on the following dates:
- 22nd July
- 29th July
- 5th August
- 12th August
- 19th August
“Air Malta was given the choice to either accept this re-time or to cancel the flights completely with no alternative options available. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the national carrier wrote.
These are far from the first sets of Air Malta flights to be disrupted this season, with journeys between Malta and Madrid (and vice versa) scheduled to take place yesterday 20th July being impacted by hours-long delays.
Airports all around Europe have been struggling to cope with travel demand since the advent of summer 2022. This has resulted in long queues, frequent delays, and countless cancellations.
In spite of this, Air Malta Executive Chairman David Curmi recently said that the national carrier is committed to not cancelling any flights from its summer schedule.
