Check out these stunning photos of Malta’s underground Mercieca reservoir in Ta' Qali
Have you ever been in one of Malta's many impressive reservoirs?

The following photos taken by Steven Mallia show the astounding and enormous Mercieca reservoir found in Ta’ Qali. This reservoir has recently been restored and cleaned back to its former glory.

The reservoir is over 419m2 and holds an impressive 26,180,000 litres of water.

Originally, the primary water source for this reservoir was the Wignacourt springs. However, now that the reservoir has been restored, it is now connected to the Pembroke Reverse Osmosis pipeline through a 9.5km long tunnel.

An old photo of the reservoir was also posted showing many workers during a hard day’s work as they built this historically unique structure.
