With Malta’s hot summer in full swing, clothing choices get ever lighter and beach-ready, and this was exactly the order of the day at the launch of new resort collection TAHLIA by Carla Grima.

Presented to attendees in a fashion show held at the luxurious Phoenicia hotel’s infinity pool in Malta yesterday, the collection is the embodiment of Mediterranean summer days, and it’s no surprise – that was the inspiration behind it!

Complementing the looks, a stunning selection of jewellery from the Edwards Lowell Pearl Collection was also showcased, as well as an array of Emthunzini Hats and unique designer bags by beautiful Attard concept store, Eclecticist.

Set against a stunning Maltese sunset, models floated down the runway in a collection typified by lightweight summer staples and swimwear in striking prints. Speaking of TAHLIA, designer Carla Grima explains that her inspiration for the collection came from the leafage found in summer hot spots around the globe.

“We take you on a journey from Mediterranean islands to the tropical Caribbean. Prints are influenced by our Mediterranean surroundings, and a recent adventure to the island of Dominica,” she says, adding, “inspired by rich orange hues of Maltese citrus fruits to the serene tones of green banana leaves, this is a story of summer obsession” – positively tantalizing!
