Cat crossing? This Gozitan road sign has us scratching our heads
Maltese punctuation at its best!

Jillian Mallia

Once in a while, a local road sign with a strange meaning or punctuation pops up for us all to have a good giggle at, but this one possibly takes the cuteness cake!

“Slow cat crossing” reads this sign on Malta’s sister isle. But what has us, and possibly every passerby, doing doubletakes is the meaning. We’re not sure whether it’s meant to read ‘slow down, a cat could be crossing’ or that there is a slow cat crossing the road. What do you think?

Ah, punctuation. Such an important thing!

Have you come across this sign in Gozo?
