Preparations are well underway for the 18th Edition of Opera vs Pop Under the Stars, one of Gozo's most anticipated summer cultural events, set to take place on Monday, 27 July 2026, at 8.30pm in the picturesque courtyard of the Ministry for Gozo and Planning in Victoria.

Organised by the Gozo Youth Orchestra, the annual concert has earned a reputation for bringing together opera, musical theatre, film music and popular classics in a unique open-air performance accompanied by a live symphony orchestra.

The orchestra will perform under the direction of its founder and Music Director, Mro Dr Joseph Grech, who is currently leading intensive rehearsals alongside the orchestra and featured soloists. This year's performers include Pamela Cibrano, Ludwig Galea, Noel Galea, and guest artists Rachel Fabri, Fabian Galea and Graziella DeBattista.

Audiences can look forward to a varied programme featuring operatic favourites, well-loved musical theatre pieces, iconic film scores and popular hits, offering entertainment for music lovers of all ages.

The concert is supported by the Ministry for Gozo, Visit Malta, The General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, Arts Council Malta, The Duke Boutique Hotel and Paul Stellini Design Studio.
