Brr baby, brr! ‘Biting cold’ weather expected over the next few days on the Maltese Islands
If you’ve already ventured outdoors this morning you would have definitely felt the freezing temperatures that can currently be felt on the Maltese Islands. If not – what kind of blood is flowing through your veins and where can we get some?
And it seems that these chilly temperatures are here to stay for a while, with weather site Malta Weather calling it a “big freeze. X’inhu gej...
“The Maltese Islands are expected to feel the full force of a mass of very cold air, known as a Siberian express, this coming Monday and Tuesday as biting cold Bora winds affect the central Mediterranean.”
“Locations sheltered from the moderate northerly wind might even get the rare ground frost as air temp fall close to freezing at night!” they continue. Hey, Bora winds– buzz off! Us islanders aren’t built for such cold weather.
The Met Office also concurs, issuing a weather warning: “The Northerly win will be strong at times over the exposed areas of the Maltese Islands,” it read, saying it’s valid until 12pm today. The Met Office is also reported lows of 5⁰C today, highs of 10⁰C and Force 6 winds.
