A player that forms part of the senior team of Birkirkara FC has tested positive for COVID-19. The football club shared the news in a Facebook post earlier this morning, announcing that all training activities have been suspended.

“Birkirkara FC has been made aware that one of its Senior Team players has tested positive for Covid-19. In view of this, the club has decided to cancel all training activities until further notice.”

“The player is in good health and has been in self-isolation since he first showed symptoms. The club has taken all precautionary measures and all those who attended training with the same player have been asked to self isolate and get tested,” the post continues.

“When the go-ahead from the health authorities is received and is reassured that all players and staff members are well and healthy, training will resume.” Yellow and red fans took to the comments section saying that “health comes above everything” with a lot of supporters commenting “stay safe.”
