Astro lovers will surely love this.
If you’re willing to stay up late tonight, get ready for a show in the skies like you’ve never seen before.
The spectacular Leonid meteor shower will be visible from the islands tonight and the good thing about it is you won’t even need a telescope. Your naked eye will do just fine.
Find a spot away from any artificial light, get a chair and ready yourself for an unforgettable experience.
Meteor showers usually occur when our planet finds itself passing through debris left behind by comets as earth makes its way around the sun.
This creates the magical illusion and tricks our eyes into thinking that something fast is passing by our planet but in fact it’s the earth that is rapidly passing by the debris.
The debris from the Leonid meteors showers comes from the periodic comet tempel-tuttle officially known as 55P/Tempel-Tuttle.
The comet was discovered by Willliam Tempel in 1865 at the Marseilles Observatory in France.
These November Leonid meteors can be seen every single year between the 10th to 20th November but tonight will be biggest chance astro lovers have to see them.
They get their unique name from the Leo constellation as chances are that one is most likely going to see them within this exact constellation.
