A busy day for the Malta Police Force as 341 drivers were given driving-related fines today

The Malta Police Force, assisted by the Rapid Intervention Unit and Special Intervention Unit, had quite the day today as they fined 341 drivers who had broken a number of driving-related regulations.

Around 80 fines related to speeding were handed out. Reportedly, according to a statement shared by the police, the worst speeding ticket in this area was given to a driver who registered a speed of 132km per hour in Triq Louis Wettinger in Mellieha. This road also saw tickets issued to drivers that hit 103km per hour and 94km per hour, respectively among others.

Other fines of the same sort were issued along the Coast Road, 15 near Torri tal-Ghallis and 32 near Bahar ic-Caghaq. Here, a driver managed to hit a high of 143km per hour. Another two drivers in the Bahar ic-Caghaq area also registered at 137km per hour and 123km per hour, respectively.

10 other fines were issued on grounds unrelated to speeding that included driving with no seatbelt, cars having tinted glass, licences not affixed properly, excessive pollution and cars having no licence.
