6 ways to make the most of the long weekend in Malta & Gozo
Pack your weekend bag, it’s time for a quick escape from reality.

Long weekends in Malta aren’t rare (ahem), but that doesn’t mean you should let this one get away! The water’s still warm, the sun’s still hot (in between the showers that have been forecast) and the beaches will still welcome you with open arms.

Making the most of your long weekend will recharge your batteries, take your mind off work and give you a chance to kiss the summer goodbye in style. Here are six stellar ways to live it up this weekend:

Take a trip to Gozo

This one’s obvious and you’ve probably hearf tonnes of people say it around the office - but that simply means it’s a great idea! There’s nothing better than escaping to Gozo for the weekend (unless an extra day can be added on!) Head for Gozo the minute you clock out of your 9-5 and get back late on Sunday. Bliss!

Hit the beach with your buds

Gather the crew for a full-on beach day. Pedal boats, ice-cream, lilos and cocktails will have to feature for it to be considered an appropriate final summer beach bash! Do, of course, check the weather forecast first! And if you’re feeling up to it, stay on for a night swim and a moonlit BBQ (though make sure you apply for a permit).

Pamper yourself

You always feel good after a good scrub down, so use these three days to give yourself some TLC. Book a hair appointment, get a massage and squeeze in a facial if you fancy it. Spend some time with yourself, reconnect and realign.

Let your hair loose at BWYLD

If you’re in the mood for a party, have a hankering for a couple of drinks and want to dance to some killer music, head to BWYLD and let your hair down. Get in party mood with a lo-fi set blasting from your speakers as you get ready to head out.

Organise a ziblata with your friends

Get in touch with your old besties and do what you did best together - strut your way through Paceville and hit the clubs as hard as you used to in your teenage years! If you’re still a teen; you know exactly what you’re doing this weekend.

Rest up

Alternatively, your comfy inside-pants may seem a lot more appealing than your skinny jeans, so your loyal sofa or trusty bed might be your companions for the weekend. Invite a like-minded friend to join if you’re up for company, order pizzas and eat ice-cream from the tub while you TV binge.

Whatever you do this weekend be sure to savour the moment, the next public holiday we’ll be enjoying isn't till December!
