Malta Public Transport has rolled out 100 brand new buses in a €28 million investment aimed at modernising its fleet and improving the public transport experience for both drivers and passengers.

The new buses, which replace older Euro 5 models, are part of a long-term strategy to provide a safer, more efficient, and more comfortable service.

Equipped with advanced technology, the new buses are designed with both safety and comfort in mind. Replacing traditional side mirrors are modern camera systems that offer improved visibility, helping drivers navigate more safely. Additional safety features include pedestrian collision alerts, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warnings, driver fatigue detection, and speed limit notifications.

Inside, drivers benefit from upgraded seats featuring integrated heating and cooling, while passengers will enjoy a two-door layout for faster boarding and disembarking, USB and USB-C charging ports, and large digital screens showing real-time travel updates.

While the buses remain diesel-powered, they comply with the more environmentally friendly Euro 6 emission standard; an improvement over the older Euro 5 models they are replacing.

Will you be trying out these new buses?
