A perfect picnic area.
A green space as large as two football grounds, 17,000 square metres to be precise, has just opened up for all the public to enjoy at the Bengħajsa family park in Birzebbuga.
Amongst the 4,000 trees, this picnic area is the perfect green space for all.

1,800 from the 4000 trees that can be found in the park were planted as part of a Puttinu Cares initiative, where any person that donated over €300 got a tree planted in their honour.
Visitors will have the chance to enjoy benches made especially from sustainable material.
Additionally, many information signs related to the type of trees and plants that have been planted, were also place.
This park is perfect for kids as obstacle games were installed for all children to enjoy.

The area was previously in the process of being used as a waste dump, but it now has been successfully turned into a beautiful green park.
Measures were also taken to make the park accessible to all wheelchair users.
The park is open from 6:30am to 9pm between April and September and 6:30am to 7pm between October and March.
