1. These soup cups

We’ve got a collection in our house, and honestly, which Maltese house doesn’t?

2. Swans

These ceramic buddies are always eavesdropping on conversations atop our shelves. But it’s not the first time they’ve been shattered by some flying object (sorry mum!)

3. Marbles

A collection that every kid would have. Got a double marble? Wanna trade?

4. This tin that DOESN'T have treats in it 

EVERY nanna had one of these, be it a Quality Street or butter biscuits box that's stuffed with sewing materials. Rummage through the sewing drawer, it’s there. I guarantee it.

5. Recipe cards

Alphabetised and categorised, these cards will come flying out every time you ask your nanna for one of her delicious recipes.

6. The old Benna cartons

Remember these? Mini cartons of Benna's banana, chocolate and strawberry flavours were the BOMB and handed out to all the kids in local schools.

7. That vetrina with all the knick-knacks

Every Maltese house has THAT vetrina stocked with lots of weird, super fragile looking knick-knacks.

8. Old tickets

This is what an old bus ticket looked like. Pretty cute, right? 

9. Id-Denfil

Probably the most popular Maltese book in our curriculum back then.

10. Big ass Grundig TV

Obvs, and they lasted for AGES.
