Zejtun’s Saint Clement Chapel amongst 15 historical national sites set to be restored
A total of 13 villages will be affected.
15 national historic sites that vary from statues, chapels, churches, monuments and shrines across Malta are set to be restored under the council scheme for restoration.
This is the seventh time such a scheme has come out in order for villages all across the islands to preserve their special historical sights.
These restoration projects will be carried out during a two-year span.
The historical sights that will be restored are:
- Rabat, Saint Mary Madeleine’s Chapel facade
- Rabat, Saint Paul statue
- Żejtun, San Clementine’s Chapel
- Ħal Lija, The old Parochial Church
- San Ġwann, Propostu Chapel
- Ħaż-Żebbuġ, Madonna tad-dawl Church
- Ħal Kirkop, Salib tad-Dejma
- Ħal Għargħur, San Bartholmew shrine and Saint Paul shrine in the main square
- Fgura, Madonna tal-Grazzja statue
- Santa Venera, Water tower
- Ħal Tarxien, Saint Joseph’s Chapel facade
- Ħal Tarxien, Jeanne Antide foundation building
- Marsaskala, Saint Joachim statue
- Iż-Żurrieq, Saint Paul shrine
- Xgħajra, Saint James Church
