Yesterday’s event ‘Mixegħla tal-Ġimgħa Mqaddsa’ in St. George's Square in Valletta proved to be a remarkable spectacle yesterday, beautifully captured through stunning photographs.

Despite challenging weather conditions, the dedication and craftsmanship behind the installation shone through. Designed with precision by Keith Zerafa and his team, the display featured hundreds of carefully arranged torches, forming an elegant representation of the Chalice.

This symbolic design added depth and meaning to the event, resonating strongly with the spirit of Holy Week. Accompanied by sacred music, the atmosphere in the square became one of reflection, unity, and quiet reverence.

Visitors gathered to admire both the artistry and the powerful message conveyed through light and sound.

The event, supported by the Valletta Cultural Agency, proved the city's ability to bring community and tradition together in a truly unforgettable way.

Were you present for the event yesterday?

2nd April 2026
